ECG Monitoring
Electro Cardio Graph is a tool to measure any abnormal changes in the heart condition.
An (Electro Cardio Graph) ECG is used to analyse the heart’s rhythm and detect irregularities and other cardiac issues that might lead to serious health problems such as a stroke or heart attack. An ECG monitor is needed to record it, as the electrical signals move through the heart, the ECG monitor records the strength and the timing of these signals in a graph.
At Physio fit, we have the ECG monitors and Lead electrodes to measure the ECG for Cardiac Rehabilitation. Every Cardiac Rehabilitation patient we cater at our center specifically is monitored to ensure safety post Cardiac Bypass, Angioplasty and or any Cardiac event.
To ensure optimum safety, we also have a cardiac defibrillator to avoid any such untoward event. Defibrillator not only helps to detect the abnormal ECG’s but also gives you a DC shock to prevent Cardiac Arrest.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable electronic device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. This machines are used only in case of an emergency of sudden cardiac arrest where the Electro Cardiogram shows an abnormal beat (Arrhythmia) i.e. too slow or too fast heart beats or Stopped beating (Sudden Cardiac Arrest) due to any co-morbid factors. In these emergency situations, defibrillators can potentially stop an irregular heart beat and allow a normal rhythm to resume following this episode.
Defibrillators are placed at all places where there is some amount of risk factors for patient developing such symptoms. In a Cardiac rehabilitation set up, AED’s are required for an emergency backup system to help the patient cope up in case of a sudden episode.
At Physiofit, we ensure maximum safety to all our patients to provide the best possible outcome for all patients.
Aerobic Exercises
Aerobic/Cardio Exercises are important for Heart Health post any Cardiac Event. While planning an aerobic exercise program for cardiac patients, it is important that all the vital parameters like Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Electro-Cardiogram and Oxygen Levels are also considered. These exercises are always progressive and symptom limited.Every Patient Exercises are Tailor made based on patients co-morbid conditions like Age, Series of Cardiac Events, Ejection Fraction and Symptoms. Based on these factors,Maximum Heart Rate and Target Heart Rate is determined followed by an Exercise Prescription. Equipment that are often used for delivering aerobic exercises are Treadmill, Cycling, Elliptical and Steppers
Strength and Conditioning for Cardiac Rehabilitation
One of the aspect which is very important in Cardiac Rehab is Strength training and Conditioning for cardiac rehab patients. After the Bypass or Angioplasty, we gradually ask the patient to start lifting weights. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Experts guide the patients to start with gradual weight lifting and aerobic conditioning with appropriate medical supervision. Patients perform exercises over a period of 1 month to 2 years depending on their requirement to achieve the possible physical demand post-surgery.
At Physiofit, we have seen more than 300 Cardiac Patients, out of which many have gone to being Runners and weight Lifting experts post their cardiac event. However, this is achieved with due time and a diligent training.
